Nr. 573, mit zweiseitig bestiftetem Teller-Musikwerk von Piguet et Meylan, geprägt mit "P & M", Ø 2,5 cm, 2 x 13 Tonzungen, Gehäuse innen gepunzt mit "I.G.R.C.", in Raute für Jean-Georges Rémond et Compagnie à Genève, französische und Schweizer Ga- rantiestempel für 18 Karat Gold, rechteckiges Gehäuse mit abgerundeten Ecken, allseitig wellenförmig guillo- chiert, floral gravierte Randbordüren, poliertes Innen- fach, Maße 5,4 x 3,5 x 1,4 cm, mit Schlüssel, Deckel innen leicht nachgelötet, ohne Gehäuseschrauben. Gut spielender Zustand. Ein exquisites musikalisches Kunstwerk!
Fine 18-Carat Gold Musical Snuff Box by Jean- Georges Reymond, c. 1815
No. 573, with sur-plateau movement by Piguet et Mey- lan, stamped "P & M", playing a single tune with 2 x 13 teeth mounted on both sides of 7/8-inch (2,5 cm) disc, in engine-turned gold case with chased floral borders on front and lid, acanthus-leaf corners and polished inte- rior with "I.G.R.C." in a diamond-shaped stamp and French and Swiss guarantee marks, length 2 1/8 in. (5,4 cm) x width 1 3/8 in. (3,5 cm), with male winding key, soft-solder repairs on inner lid, case screws not present, playing. Isaac-Daniel Piguet, born in Le Chenit in 1775, worked in partnership with Philippe-Samuel Mey- lan in Geneva from 1811 to 1828. An exquisite musical objet de vertu.
