Bisque Doll by Limbach Porzellanfabrik, c. 1950 Impressed "Wally 7", crown symbol, "Made in Ger- many", with open mouth, weighted blue glass eyes with mohair lashes, brown mohair wig, ball-jointed composi- tion body, beaded satin dress and matching opera cape, height 25 in. (63,5 cm), cape foxed and fragile. – Litera- ture: This doll is illustrated on p. 131 of "Toys and Dolls for Collectors" (1973) by Eileen King. A copy of the book accompanies the lot.

(58 cm); a small German bisque doll with closed mouth, fixed brown eyes, five-piece composition body and original regional costume, height 5 in. (12,5 cm); two wood tribal dolls; a domed-topped doll trunk containing a striped cotton dress, two hats, a pair of Jenoptica opera glasses and other items (not all pic- tured).

Vermutlich England, in Gestalt eines jungen Mannes mit ausgeprägten Gesichtszügen, spitzer Nase, roten Wangen und kräftigen gemalten Augenbrauen, Wim- pern und Mund, Glasaugen, Kopf aus Papiermaché, angeklebte Wollhaare, geschnitzte Hände, Stiefel aus Mischmasse, in grau-blau gemustertem Anzug mit We- ste, gestreiftem Baumwollhemd mit passender Fliege und weißem Stehkragen aus Pappe. Offener Rücken mit der Mechanik, 3 Fadenzüge mit Ösen für das Öffnen und Schließen des Mundes, die Seitwärtsbewegung der Augen und das Hochstellen der Stirnlocke; außerdem ist der Kopf drehbar auf einem Stab befestigt. Höhe 83 cm. Eine ausdrucksstarke Puppe mit vielfältigen Bewe- gungsmöglichkeiten.

Probably English, depicting a young man with pro- nounced features, pointed nose, red cheeks and heavily painted brows, lashes and mount, papier-mâché head, glass eyes, pasted wool hair, carved hands and compo- sition boots. In patterned suit with waistcoat, blue striped shirt with matching bow tie and white cardboard collar. 3-string mechanism in the torso causes the pup- pet to open and close his mouth, move his eyes to the sides and "flap" his forelock! Head articulated on wooden stick. 32 1⁄2 in. tall. An expressive doll with multiple movements! Good original condition!

(27 cm). – And: 2) Armand Marseille impressed "A.M., Germany, 351./8K", with domed head, open mouth with two lower teeth, weighted blue eyes and five-piece com- position baby body, in christening robe and bonnet, height 19 in. (48 cm), flake on underside of neck socket, stringing loose.
