Clown See-Saw Musical Clockwork Toy by Günther- mann, c. 1910
Fürth, hand-painted tin toy depicting two articulated clowns raising and lowering a see-saw so that their companion rolls back and forth on his go-cart, with open-spring mechanism, key and simple "musical box", on red platform base, 14 in. (36 cm) long x 4 1⁄2 in. (11 cm) wide x 8 1⁄2 in. (21 cm) high level, working condi- tion, original paint, usual flaking. Provenance: De- camps family collection, ex-factory stock of the Roullet et Decamps automata firm (1866–1995), with early inventory label: "S.D.Z. 137/18". A very rare tin toy with unique provenance.
